Pams recent work has been inspired by a visit to an exhibition in Oxford at the Museum of Natural History titled ‘Frocks from Rocks’ by Richard Watson of the Welsh School of Architecture in Cardiff and his book, ‘formations images from rocks’. This led her to explore a world hidden inside stones. The exhibition included digitally scanned sections of minerals and stone magnified from two to ten times actual size revealing shapes and patterns, many suggesting organic growth, landscapes and abstract patterns. Both colour and form were influenced by her visit and study of the book. She chose the media of needle felting and embroidery to interpret the images.
